The hub employs AT&T’s 4G LTE network, ensuring that your signal remains strong even if your Wi-Fi is unstable. In my tests, an agent always responded to an alarm within 30 seconds.

 

Installation Process

Installing Simplisafe is easy and can be done on your own without professional help. Other devices in the system are wireless so you don’t need to worry about them too much, but you need to ensure that the base station is plugged in. The devices will include instruction guides on how to properly place and connect them to the base station. It takes an average of 30 minutes to set up your keypad, base station, and several units of motion sensors. You do not need fancy DIY skills to complete the process.

If you do need help because you do not have time or are simply worried you might botch the system, you can get your security system professionally installed for $99.

Warranty and Contract

There is no lock-in contract required if you want to get a security system from Simplisafe. Unless you subscribe to 24/7 monitoring, you don’t need to worry about monthly costs. The 24/7 monitoring subscription, however, is required if you want to integrate smart devices and access the mobile app.
