The Brinks security app allows you to arm, disarm, and view live video feeds on your smartphone or other mobile devices. While the app functioned well for me, I would like to see improvements in its user interface for better ease of use.

That said, having an app significantly enhances the value of a security system. With the Brinks app, you can manage and monitor your system remotely, ensuring your home is protected even when you’re not there. Specifically, I was able to view live footage from the cameras and use the two-way talk feature to communicate with visitors. In the event of a break-in, this feature could act as a great deterrent.

Cloud Video Storage

Brinks’ higher-tier plans offer cloud video storage, allowing you to store your recorded video footage and clips securely in the cloud for easy access and review. This feature typically costs an additional $5 to $10 per month with other companies, so it’s a great perk that Brinks includes it in select plans. While recorded footage won’t prevent burglaries or break-ins, it can serve as valuable evidence, enhancing the overall protection provided by Brinks.

Although not a traditional feature, Brinks’ warranty is definitely worth noting. All Brinks equipment comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee, allowing you to test their system for a full month to see if it suits your needs. If it doesn’t work for you, you can return it for a complete refund. While a 30-day guarantee is common in the industry, not every company offers this option.

However, if you cancel after the trial period, you’ll be responsible for the remaining balance on your monitoring contract for the full three years, so be sure to consider this before making a decision.

Brinks Home also offers a service plan called Brinks Home Plus for $7.99 a month. This plan covers repairs or replacements for eligible equipment, and technician visits are available for a fee of $75.

In addition, traditional customer support channels are staffed by Brinks security experts, providing multiple ways to get assistance.

During my interactions, the customer service was solid—friendly and helpful—but not necessarily outstanding. While the staff was certainly accommodating, I tend to ask tough questions, which might have made the experience feel less than perfect at times.
